I utilize a family-centered and solution focused model in which I consider family history and involvement to be very important. Families can be a great resource to understanding issues and in moving towards healthier and happier family system of support. All people are interconnected, and those connections are important to understanding who we are, and how to move forward.
I feel parents are an integral part of the helping process for their child. Enhancing personal strengths is fundamental, therefore, parental investment in the process of therapy is critical. Adding coping skills, exploring different ways of looking at a problem, and self-discovery are paramount in becoming an emotionally healthy individual.
Working with young adults is a special honor for me. This particular stage of development involves some existential work, identity formation, and making sense of our family of origin. It is a rich stage of development, incorporating our own set of values and sizing up the risk in being creators of our own destiny.
